Learn MoreCommissioning Weekend 2026 will celebrate God’s faithfulness as we continue to “Belong” and pray for “Revival” within The Salvation Army in the USA Central Territory.
Events begin on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. with a Commencement Ceremony at Wheaton College in Edman Chapel to celebrate Cadets and Officers who have completed educational milestones this year.
Throughout Saturday afternoon, there will be opportunities to participate in S.A. Gaming tournaments, Rising Stars competitions, visit Trade Central and some prayer opportunities. Saturday evening’s meeting will begin with the Parade of Flags, and we will hear from officers and soldiers about “Revival.”
On Sunday we will witness the sacred Ordination of the Keepers of the Covenant Session as the Cadets are ordained as ministers and commissioned to do the work of The Salvation Army with their new rank of Lieutenant.

The sacred climax of the weekend — candidates of the Keepers of the Covenant session are ordained and commissioned as Salvation Army officers, pledging a life of service.
Spirit-led worship gatherings on Saturday evening and Sunday morning, featuring powerful preaching, testimonies, and music that stirs the soul and renews your calling.
Chicago Staff Band, Central Territorial Songsters and more fill Edman Chapel with stirring worship music throughout the entire commissioning weekend.
A joyful gathering honoring the newly commissioned officers and their families — a time of prayer, congratulations, and fellowship as they begin their appointed ministry.
Watch as each newly commissioned officer receives their first appointment, marking the beginning of a lifelong journey of servant leadership across the Central Territory and beyond.
